As an architect and urban designer Gareth is convinced of the strong influences which the environment has upon our well being.
Gareth has been working in private architectural practice for 15 years, most recently as an Associate with idpartnership in Scotland where he headed the urban regeneration team which works across the UK. For the past five years he has gained permissions and led a number of successful bids for large mixed use schemes for clients such as Crest Nicholson, New City Vision, and In Partnership, as well as many national housebuilders.
After training in Liverpool and Oxford Gareth took the opportunity to work and study overseas. A time spent designing urban apartments in Switzerland was followed by a postgraduate course in Alexandria, Virginia. He went on to be the project architect for the first ever American Pension funded development in Russia - housing for diplomats in Moscow.
He has recently completed building his own home - a low energy, zinc roofed cedar clad structure with many details in common with the Living Village ethos.
Having worked as a consultant with Living Villages he is excited to be a member of the team, applying his experience to creating new environments which foster the same successful community spirit and beautiful appearance of initial developments. |
