Scott Black - Land & Development Director - Living Villages Holdings Ltd

Scott is a qualified Chartered Architect with a passion for good design and the creation of quality lead sustainable communities where people want to live.

After qualifying from Manchester University Scott joined Saunders Partnerships Architects focusing primarily on commercial and residential schemes. He then went onto Berkeley Homes where he spent 2 years as a Planning and design manager.

In 1999 he left to join Crest Nicholson plc where he started out as Design Manager and was promoted through the ranks and into the land and acquisition team eventually moving to the head office in Surrey to join Crest Nicholson Regeneration (CNR) responsible for major acquisitions for the group.

Scott played a key role in securing over 3000 units for Crest over an 8 year period and helping to build CNR. He secured, designed and project managed Napsbury Hospital in St. Albans for over 550 units with a gross development value of over £190M in 2000. Following this he had an instrumental part in securing major regeneration projects such as Woolston Riverside in Southampton, and at the Greenwich peninsular.

Working closely with John Callcutt, Stephen Stone and Chris Tinker, Scott developed a strong appreciation and interest in building truly sustainable communities with a focus on the community, good design, and the creation of a sense of place. He formed Black Reeve Ltd with Hugo Reeve in 2004 whilst still at Crest Nicholson and joined the Living Villages team full time as Land and Development Director and as a co-shareholder in May 2007.

He relishes the opportunity in taking the Living Villages ethos and concepts forward onto the national stage and raising the residential development's bar for quality, design and community creation.
