What we do

We create Living Villages – beautiful new houses in convivial, eco-friendly neighbourhoods with the feel of an established village.  We believe it is vital for the future to build well designed energy-efficient houses using the latest technologies, and thereby encourage a more environmentally-aware lifestyle.

Living Villages build communities of at least 25 homes, and are now involved in some of the most exemplar new-town regenerations in the UK, at the forefront of the government’s drive for sustainable low-carbon schemes.

“Most importantly, we are about creating communities with a real sense of place and a feeling of belonging - qualities that are so often lacking in lack-lustre new housing developments”, explains Bob Tomlinson, co-founder of Living Villages.

Living Villages’ most successful development to date, The Wintles in Bishops Castle, Shropshire, has received huge media and public interest. It remains one of the few examples in the UK of an exemplar eco-community actually built and lived in, whilst more importantly remaining a charming and attractive place to live.

Living Villages have two arms – The original Living Village Trust Ltd, established in 1994 to pioneer a better approach to housing design & community, and Living Villages Holdings Ltd, established in 2006 as a more competitive housebuilder to expand Living Villages schemes nationally.
