Concern for the state of the environment is key to the design of Living Village houses. All the houses are built to UK Building Research Establishment’s’ Eco-Homes Excellent’ rating or equivalent standards. And wherever possible materials that are non-polluting, renewable, local or reclaimed are used.

“Making changes in the way we live is the most environmentally and cost-effective way to reduce our CO2 emissions. That means using local building materials that can be renewed, finding cheaper ways to heat our homes, eating locally-produced food and minimising the need to commute to work. It’s also important to create beautiful homes in attractive neighbourhoods that people will want to look after and live in form many years to come- the true meaning of sustainability”.
